I am preparing for the Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I exam and wanted to share one issue that slowed me down for a while.
I was comfortable with Apex triggers SOQL and basic concepts but still getting stuck on exam style questions.
The real problem was not coding it was understanding what Salesforce is actually asking in a scenario.
For example
When to use Apex vs Flow?
How triggers behave in bulk?
Handling governor limits in real situations?
Writing proper test classes?

These questions are not direct they test your thinking.
What helped me improve was changing my approach?
Instead of only practicing code I started asking why this solution is better and what happens when data scales.
Also practicing real Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I exam style questions made a big difference. I used Pass4Success for this and it helped me understand the pattern of exam style questions and where I was making mistakes
Not saying it is the only resource but it did help me move from guessing to actually understanding.
If you are also stuck at the same point try focusing more on scenarios instead of just syntax.
Would love to hear how others are preparing for this exam.
