Why Lithium Americas Stock Almost Doubled Today
Lithium Americas (NYSE: LAC) stock soared 90.9% through 10 a.m. ET this morning after Reuters reported the start-up miner of lithium for electric car batteries may be in line for a big investment from the U.S. government.

The U.S. government wants to "renegotiate" a $2.3 billion loan to Lithium Americas to help the latter get its Thacker Pass Lithium mine up and running, says Reuters. In exchange for the funds, the Trump administration apparently wants a 10% stake in the miner.
