Why UniFirst Stock Tumbled by 3% Today
Workplace uniform and protective equipment specialist 's (NYSE: UNF) stock was hardly the first choice of investors on Wednesday. Following the company's publication of its latest set of quarterly results that morning, many of those folks assertively sold off their shares, resulting in a 3% decline across the trading session.
For its first quarter of fiscal 2026, UniFirst earned just over $621 million in revenue, which was almost 3% higher on a year-over-year basis. Net income under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) went in the opposite direction, falling by 20% to $34.4 million ($1.89 per share).
